Tired of breaking your OEM steering rack? Our Swingset Steering Kit replaces the weak stock steering rack with an upgraded steering box, hydraulic assist ram, and fabricated swinging centerlink assembly. This eliminates steering rack failures entirely, allows for better control of larger tires, less feedback at the wheel, and an overall quicker/stronger/safer driving experience.
This kit is for the 2wd GMT800 Silverado/Sierra 1500 Platform.
The following parts are included in the kit:
- (1) Swingset (bolts in place of your OEM rear crossmember)
- (1) Centerlink
- (2) Steering Swingers
- (1) Fabricated Pitman Arm
- (1) Formed Sheetmetal Template to assist with mounting the steering box
- (1) Machined Aluminum Drag Link
- ALL FK Rod Ends, Misalignments, Bushings, and Grade 8 Hardware (Aircraft Hardware available upon request)
Includes the following from Howe Performance:
- (1) Howe Steering Box - Modified with custom internal stops, proper steering ratio, ported, billet top cap, billet end cap.
- (1) Howe Hydraulic Assist Ram
- (1) Howe P-Pump or T/C Style Steering Pump with Pulley
The customer is responsible for purchasing or performing the following:
- Modification/Routing of the steering shaft to the new box
- Power steering cooler, reservoir, reservoir mounting, hydraulic hoses and plumbing.
- Modification of the front crossmember to clear the steering box. (plates are included to box the frame in after cutting)
- Bracket kit if converting to a T/C pump
- While we designed this kit to make install as simple and straightforward as possible, there is still cutting, welding, fabrication, plumbing, etc involved. Those who purchase should be knowledgeable and competent in these departments.
